Kitec Update, Part 5, Copper Replumbing
This past week, a number of homes were replumbed in Sun City using all copper pipe and fittings. Here are a number of images (6) from one of those homes, an Arlington model. They also did an Anthem and other Sun City models.
Within about a week or so, we anticipate having detailed cost information from the CA company that did the work on these "test" homes that were selected to develop cost and pricing data. When that information is available, we will make an announcement. The company is not prepared to answer inquiries at this time so there is no contact information available. .
In this replumbing job, with a large crew on hand, all plumbing work was performed in one day, the line was pressurized and the inspection was performed the following morning. All work was performed within the home and no exterior walls were opened. One of the unique features of this replumbing effort was the inclusion of a new, higher capacity recirculating pump that had increased lifting capacity (to raise the water in the line to the attic) over the previously installed pump, which we understand had nominal lifting capacity given that the Kitec was laid primarily underground.
