Is the Fix in to Renew RMI's Management Contract? An awkward plea by Dick Arendt.

I really need a favor from all of you because this is VERY IMPORTANT.
On Tuesday morning, December 8th at 9:00am, there will be a Board Workshop meeting at Anthem Center to discuss the RMI renewal contract.
Will this be a productive meeting or will it be merely a sideshow?
We shall see, won't we? My guess, it's the latter.
Now this is the part as to why I am pleading to you to give about 10 minutes of your time on Tuesday morning----- that's it, just 10 short minutes.
Why only 10 minutes? You will have an opportunity to see first-hand just how much resident input is valued.
Before anything even gets started, 2 questions will need to answered by whoever is conducting that meeting:
1. Will Jack Troia be the sole negotiator for the RMI renewal?
2. Will a contract longer than a one year period be offered?
Keep in mind that we elected SEVEN people, NOT ONE, to do that job, and that NO COMPETITIVE BIDDING WAS EVER INITIATED.
If either questions are answered YES, or IGNORED, just get up, yell out the word,
FIX !
...and walk out the door and go to breakfast. Don't waste your time allowing any of them to blow any more smoke in your face and insult your intelligence.
Mark my words, ladies and gentleman, THIS CONTRACT IS A DONE DEAL and it is INSULTING TO YOU for this board to attempt to get you to believe that they are going into ANY BUSINESS NEGOTIATION WITH SUCH A SHORT TIMEFRAME IN WHICH TO PREPARE FOR IT.
It renews on February 1, 2010.
This is a wonderful opportunity in which you will SEE FOR YOURSELF just how important, you, AS A DUES PAYING RESIDENT, really are.
Won't you take those few moments? If there is ONE MEETING THAT YOU EVER ATTEND, THIS SHOULD BE THE ONE.
The next few years of how you will live here in Sun City Anthem will be decided----it's that important!
So I am asking each and every one of you to PLEASE MAKE AN ATTEMPT to be there for just a few minutes and let our Board know that this contract should be closely examined rather than rubber-stamped by one man.
I would also ask each and every one of you to PLEASE FORWARD this email to ANY FRIEND THAT YOU HAVE HERE IN SUN CITY ANTHEM.
I can promise you that if only a few people make an appearance, there will be no going back on this thing when signed, sealed and delivered.
Thanks for listening.
