Questions & Answers about The Poll
- Who can vote? Any unit owner or renter living in Sun City Anthem. That means any of your friends, neighbors or persons on your Village email tree can vote.
- Do I need to subscribe to vote? No! There is no subscription or registration process required to cast your vote.
- Do I need to give my name or identify myself to vote? No, voting is completely anonymous.
- I live with someone. Can he (or she) also cast a vote? No, the polling program is designed to allow only one vote from the same computer by remembering the computer’s unique IP address.
- What is an IP address? "IP" stands for Internet Protocol. An IP address is a numerical label that is assigned to devices, like your computer, participating in a computer network that uses the Internet Protocol for communication between computing devices. A computer's numeric address, such as 128.201.86.290, tells one where the computer is located within a network.
- My spouse has their own computer in another room with a separate email address. Does that mean he (or she) can also vote? No, typically such machines are connected using a router. In that case, both computers share the same IP address.
- Can I vote more than once? No, see the answer to number 4.
- Do we have a list of those who voted and how they voted? No.
- Where is the polling program located? The polling program is located on a web server back in New Jersey where my internet hosting provider is located. A server is a computer program that delivers content like Web pages over the World Wide Web.
- How do I take the Poll? Read a brief introduction on the issue or problem and some instructions and you are ready to vote.
- How many questions are there? There is only ONE question in any poll.
- How many possible answers are there? The typical poll has a fixed number of possible answers for you to consider. From that list, you can select the answer that best reflects your opinion or judgment at the time you cast your vote.
- How do I select an answer? Each answer is preceded by a blank oval. Clicking on the oval will highlight that oval as your selection.
- What if I change my mind on my initial selection? You can change your selection but only before you cast your vote at the bottom of the polling page. Merely select a different answer by clicking on that answer’s oval and your previous selection is automatically cancelled.
- What if I do not like any of the answers or would like more information? Each Poll should have an option that permits the voter to opt out of the Poll by selecting the last answer, which states: Undecided, need more information, or refuse to state. Just click on that answer’s oval and submit your vote.
- How do I cast my vote? Click on the “Submit” button at the bottom of the page.
- After voting, what if I want to see how the voting is going, say, the next day. Can I do that? Yes, you can do so by merely logging on to The Poll again as you did the first time you voted. This time, you will be taken to the RESULTS page since the polling program remembers your computer’s IP address and will not allow you to vote again. Merely scroll down to the bottom of the page to view the current polling results showing how all owners and residents voted.
