On Trumpets Rumors & Reponse by President Mike Dixon

A member of the Trumpets Working Group sent the following message to the group and Chairperson Patti Shock to address rumors she heard:
Group: I have heard that the Board has asked Cleo Design Co. to study
the Trumpets space and give the Board ideas as to how to redecorate
the space. I also heard that the Board has been investigating the
purchase of a liquor license in the Association name. These actions
seem to lend themselves to either self management or the hiring of a
manager rather than even considering leasing to a resturant. We have
not even sent out the survey or conducted any studies of our own.
Patty: Please check out these rumors with the Board and let us know
if there is any truth to them. I would like to keep rumors from
spreading if possible. thank you
Patti Shock forwarded the query to Board President Mike Dixon, who responded to Patti as follows:

Only a little. When I walked through the restaurant and saw the damage, I mentioned Cleo to whoever I was walking with, but only because they have given us some good advice on the gallery. I have no idea what they would suggest, but I also have no interest in having them do any design work for $150-$200 per hour. It is possible that we might have them give us a bid to redesign the space, but that would happen in the future, and only if needed and appropriate based on the conclusions of the workgroup/
As to running the restaurant or demanding some particular form of restaurant, the rumors are lies, and those promoting the rumors know they are lies. I ran a restaurant 30 years ago, and know how much effort it takes to make a restaurant successful. I have no interest in doing it again.
Whatever goes in that space must be decided by the membership. For anything there to be successful (read that "bring in money to the association") it must have the support of the membership. Use of the space cannot be dictated by anyone. You know as well as I that, after moderating the free for all discussion a few weeks ago, I have had no contact with you other than to offer to publicize your survey on Channel 99.
Rumors are started for lots of reasons. Up here, at least recently, rumors have been started for political reasons.
