In response to Shirley Thompson, I (The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly) offer the following comments and clarifications –
• The Good, The Bad, and The Ugly represents only the first of three status updates and provides a skewed perspective without the second and final reviews (available to all upon request – meandmo1@hotmail.com).
• Our repipe started July 30 and our final inspection was September 7.
• We stuck with Repipe Specialists through thick and thin for 6 weeks unlike others who jumped ship when the going got tough and brought in others to complete their repiping project.
• Our experience is definitely and admittedly NOT the norm. We were chosen to be the poster project for Murphy’s Law - “What can go wrong, will go wrong”. We believe that our experience produced some positive outcomes and we encourage our Lessons Learned be shared with our community residents.
• We were also favorably impressed with the polite, hardworking, clean team doing our repipe. Our issue was substandard workmanship of the repipe. The initial repipe inspection failed twice and we had a total of five leaks. Our kitchen floor flooded twice from two different leaks. RS told us to call our own landscaper and reverse osmosis technicians as RS was unable to repair the leaks their crew caused. Note: We were told by Repipe Specialists that the crew that did our repipe is no longer associated with them.
• We support and encourage residents to share their repipe experience – all aspects of their experience – the good, the bad and the ugly. We believe the more you know the better off you are.
• Yesteerday We spent over 3 hours with Jeff Butler the owner and President of Repipe Specialists reviewing our experience and sharing evaluations, Lessons Learned, and improvement opportunities.
• We are pleased with the final outcome. During our 6 week ordeal, Repipe Specialists adjusted their operating processes and addressed several of our issues and concerns including Local versus long distance contact, single point of contact to coordinate different crews, designated quality control oversight, and a client expectation checklist.
Thank you for sharing your experience - Susan Marks

I am on vacation in Conn. and a couple of days ago I read (The Good, The Bad and the Ugly. My first thought was why I hadn't read articles about other companies who had repipped houses in our community. We have had eight months of companies who have been on our streets. I for one went to some of these houses and had also spoken to some very happy and unhappy owners. I felt I would wait until I could be reasonably sure I was making the right decision whom I picked...Every day I would read the up date in the Anthem View. I felt they were researching the companies for the good of the comunity. When I finally read about the Repipe Specialists I felt it was the one that would be the best according to the research. I prior had four Reps come to the house from other companies to give their pitch. I found them to be all real nice people who believed their product was the best. When I finally had the Repipe Specialists Rep come out I found he seemed to be well informed and also the story in the Review made me feel comfortable with the decision to choose them...At the time they gave me the time frame I needed to prepare for them. I had talked to neighbors who had used other people such as Delta and they took the time to cover their furniture and etc. with plastic as they wanted to make sure this was done. I went to the store and bought $30.00 worth of plastic and covered everything in the house as I am the type of person that wanted to make sure for myself that this was done. I didn't want to leave it to guess work. When Paul (the head of the team) came to the house he was so polite along with the people he bought with him. They all came at eight in the morning. Every man went to his job and they never stopped working from the time they got there except for their lunch. I have to tell you I was amazed how well they worked together and the respect they had for one another. They were always there to answer my questions and treated me with most respect. When they were done at three in the afternoon I couldn't even find any dust on my plastic. Paul said to me, "Shirley you can uncover all your hard work with the the furniture if you would like as the rest will have less dust." I didn't do so as I wasn't sure I would be happy. End result I couldn't have asked for a cleaner house before anyone had cleaned it. When the inspector came to check out the plumbing he stated it was so good that I certainly wouldn't have to worry about this group as the plumbing passed perfect. Also all the rest of the work was passed by the inspectors with no question.
I certainly couldn't call my experience with Repipe Specialists (The Bad and the Ugly)..Only the (Good). I was thrilled to death as I had seen some pretty bad stuff through the months. When it was all over the crew came back and put everything back that was taken out of the cupboards in the garage. They offered to also do this in my house but I decided to do it myself.
I got to know the fellows that worked in my house. When I read the good, the bad and the ugly I couldn't help but think of these gusys who were moving their families to Vegas from California. What effect the good, the bad and the ugly would have on them.
The Repipe specialists called me after the job was over and asked me if I would do a survay with them. I said yes and answered all their questions to the effect that I was very satisfied.
When my plumbing was being done I sent pictures over the internet to this friend of mine whom I had consulted along the way. He felt everything was being done to his satisfaction. My friend has had a sprinkler company for 50 years. His son in a graduate from college in this field and goes into Casinos,
nursing homes, college and etc. to inspect the plumbing if there is a problem to find out what is happening. My friend said to me when he was through reading the good, the bad and the ugly..
""You can do 1,000 jobs and something goes wrong or the people don't like you in just one job and then everything you do right seems to get around that you are no darn good."
When the Repipe Specialists were at my home I asked them how things were going. This was before I knew something went wrong. They said most of the people were real nice. I said to them it does seem no matter how good a person is there are some people who never think anything is right no matter how perfect you try to be.
Also I found the Rep who came to my house not to use any pressure on me. None of them did when I think about it. I have been in sales all my life and can spot one who tries it and they would have been out the door. At this age how could anyone pressure us into anything that we didn't want to do...
I know nothing about The Good, The Bad and the Ugly situation. I wasn't there. I can only tell you about my experience. It was
(The Good). I still question why more articles haven't been written about other companies and why just this one bad experience. I think it is very unfair to take one experience and damn the company who may be doing good jobs also.
There is certainly always two sides to a story and I think they both should be evaluated and heard. I am very disappointed to see something like this happen...
I certainly hope you give my letter the same amount of attention in the View.
Thank you sincerely. Life is much what we make it. Often situations can be solved if people want them to...We have beautiful sunny days to wake up to and hopefully smiles on our faces and warmth in our hearts...Lets hear
two sides of a story to publish............
