WHAT DO SUN CITY HOMEOWNERS THINK SHOULD HAPPEN?

The punishment should fit the crime. The repeated cutting of trees, transfer of assets, and asking for a public defender goes way beyond just being a lapse of good judgement and shows a calculated plan. His actions demonstrate a complete disregard for: 1) the beauty of our community, 2)residents' concern that a their home may be next target, and 3) the added financial cost for all of us. This cost goes way beyond the cost of the trees damaged. A more appropriate punishment would be restitution for the trees, a fine to offset the cost of the extra efforts of residents of the community to prevent further damage, and jail time so that he can think about what he did and serve as example to others that there is a better solution to things that we are upset about.

I think he should be given the oppotunity to stay out of jail, by being allowed to pay for the replacement of all the trees that he cut down in return.
