ED HARROLD- CAM Updates
m. Over the next two weeks Gothic will be covering the entire property of SCG to get the weeds under control. They will be using a new chemical, which we hope will take care of the problem.
n. Turf has been cut back short to kill off the rye grass and allow the Bermuda to come through for the summer. You should start to see greener grass within 2-3 weeks. This is a normal process that CAM goes through every year.
o. The removal of winter flowers and replacement of summer flowers have been completed.
p. West Nile Virus-
Maricopa County taking this very serious. Residents are encouraged to contact Maricopa County directly to report stagnate water, green pools, fountains not operating properly, etc. Very important for residents to properly maintain pools, fountains when they are away for the summer. It also been determined that flower/plant plates that catch excess water is a possible breeding ground for mosquitoes.
q. Bell Road access gate & golf course restroom combinations were given out to residents in attendance.
r. Vandalism-
Attempted theft of TV from golf course snack shop.
Cimarron golf ball picker taken out for a joy ride and dumped by the lake.
Graffiti all along the wall near the 303.
The Police are aware of these situations and doing what they can to catch anyone in the act. CAM encourages residents to report any suspicious activity to the police.
s. Vacation Watch- just a reminder to fill out your request form when you leave for the summer or go away for 2 weeks. They can be dropped off at the membership desk or at the C.H.A.P.S. Office when completed.
t. Keyholder Program- CAM encourages everyone to have a current key holder on file with the membership office in the event there is an emergency in the home and the resident is not available.
u. Block Watch-every neighborhood should actively be involved to make this program work. The police department has said that "SCG" has been a huge success due to the participation by our residents.
v. McMicken Dam- Operation Dust off has been successful in keeping trespassers out of the area. Please report ATV & gun shot noise to the Surprise Police.
VI. QUESTION & ANSWERS
What is the update on the Fire Station? The plans are currently in design this week and upon completion they will be presented to Pulte for negotiations and proper presentation.
What is the plan between Cactus Lane & Bell? When the developer finishes in the area the road will be rubberized.
What is the status of the light rail system? Burlington Railroad willing to sit down and discuss options with the City of Surprise, Peoria and Glendale. Wickenburg is very interested but not enough traffic to warrant the service.
Comment: Grand Canyon railroad to possibly extend to Wickenburg, look for news in the next 2 weeks to a month.
Comment: Desert Springs lake/pond at hole #10 is low due to CAM starting work this summer to repair the edges/erosion.
The realtor signs left on sidewalks have become hazardous, what can CAM do about these? With the amount of signs we see out there we are constantly picking them up. This upsets the realtor because of the cost associated with replacing the signs. Standard’s is well aware of the signs and will continue to remove them as they tour the property.
When will the phone book directory supplemental be available? We should have one available by the end of the year.
What was the deadline last year for submitting for the directory? It originally was set for October 15, 2004 but it was extended until Mid Dec.
Desert Springs restrooms don’t have locks, will they be installed soon? Yes, we are working on getting locks installed on all restrooms and will all have the same lock combination.
