PROBLEMS LOGGING ON TO LIVE CHAT
There are a variety of reasons that may hinder one's access to Live Chat. Some issues can fixed simply by downloading Java, by upgrading to a newer version of Netscape, or by using Internet Explorer if you are an AOL subscriber, or by upgrading to a newer operating system if you are a Macintosh user. Other problems, regrettably, like WebTV, are insurmountable and cannot be fixed. These are all discussed below.
1. Your computer may lack Sun Computer's Java software for Windows, which can be downloaded free from Sun Computer using the following Link: JAVA download or by clicking on: http://java.com/en/download/download_the_latest.jsp Microsoft is no longer supporting their own version of Java and users should rely on Sun's Java.
2. If you already have Java or have downloaded Java, and you do NOT have one of the problems indicated below, you may need to take a look at the Java support page from ParaChat, the developer of Live Chat. Java Support
3. Older versions of Netscape (on certain platforms) such as v4.08, and v4.7x may not run Live Chat. Upgrading to a newer version of Netscape (v6.xx or better) should resolve this problem.
4. Certain browsers running on
Macintosh platforms are not capable of running Live
Chat due to problems outside of the manufacturer's control. For best
performance, ParaChat recommends Macintosh OS X (v10.4) with the latest version
of Safari (v1.2), and the latest version of Sun Java (v1.4.2). For more

5. As WebTV does not support Java™, WebTV users
will not be able to access the live chat rooms.
6. AOL Members: Some users have reported that the built-in AOL browser has difficulty connecting to the Live Chat service, or does not load colors/emoticons properly. To resolve this, minimize your AOL connection, and use the Internet Explorer browser that came with your computer to access our chat rooms.
