What is The SCA View?  The SCA View-Journal, our more formal name, is Sun City’s independent journal of fine arts, written expression, and commentary, including resident articles, poetry, & art, plus we offer occasional reports on matters of community interest.

In 2005, we inaugurated a new communications service, where you the resident is the one in charge the content that appears on our website, a community Message Board for use by our residents. To learn more about this new service, visit our introductory page: Message Board Information The message board also features two additional communication options, one allowing residents to create their own personal Blog and the other to engage in Live Chat.

What’s on the website?  With over 608 pages of content and 11 million bytes of information, we are growing fast. The website is broken down into two major categories: 1) our View Portal containing art, music and general interest content, and 2) matters pertaining to Sun City. From our featured content Today's Anthem View  page, you can navigate to one of three other areas of interest, View Portal, Sun City content, or Headline News, as explained below. Additional site Links are available on our Website Content Links page. You may also access the Message Board from our Home & other web pages, or you can go to the Message Board directly: www.scaview.org/Invision. If you wish, you can click on over to the Message Board, take a quick look, and come right back. We also offer an extensive Table of Contents covering all website pages.

Arts, music and general interest content is located in what we refer to as our View Portal page and is broken down into roughly 30 subcategories, of which 11 are given prominence in the Site Highlights section. In addition, we have highlighted a number of Featured Items on that page on a variety of subjects. At this particular time, we are highlighting a resident-submitted article; information on the nature of Islam; scams affecting seniors; and three very timely and informative articles from Commentary, a nationally recognized premier magazine of opinion, two of which are on the subject of “World War IV,” and one on "Islam and Freedom." We also provide full-length articles on a variety of subjects from the Journal of the Academy of Arts and Sciences, Daedalus.

On the Sun City side, there is a similar breakdown: five or so featured items along with about twenty subcategories. In addition to our Today's Anthem View features, you can locate other newly added features on our Headline News page, where, in newspaper-like format, we bring you recent or topical news of interest to the community. We have done so in the past in a different format on issues ranging from Del Webb, Trumpets, Town Hall meetings, Developer Forums, Association activities and more, information that simply is not available elsewhere. Our "Headline News"  page also carries a feed of national and international news from the highly acclaimed newspaper, The Christian Science Monitor.

There is a Link to the full-featured MSNBC Business website, as well as Links to automatically undated news feeds from the New York Times, as well as from the space agency, NASA. The NYT feeds include Art, Books, Business, Opinion and Breaking News, which can be accessed from our Headline News page or from the View Portal Menu page.
